Hexagon and Compass

It's a long time since I've done hexagon flower,

however, I made one this morning for the 

Flower garden border.

I'm trying to keep it not to much, still not very empty.

Maybe few more leaves.

A hand stitched Compass

I decided to join Esther Aliu along with other ladies doing 

"Love Entwined" 1790 Marriage Coverlet BOM.

This is the start, middle - Compass.

I'm going to use my stash.

Nevertheless one can always add to the stash.

Some French General fabric arrived this morning.

Jelly Roll top

Now the blocks are all sewn together. 

This top was a June Sew Along with Doreen

It was called Willow Weave, very easy and fun to do.

Doreen will be hosting another Sew Along in August.

Be sure to visit her blog if you like to join in. 

I'm thinking of what colour the border should be

Cream???

Yellow????

Greenish???

Violet???

or Dark Red? Humm, I must go shopping tomorrow.

Jelly Roll Sew Along

Willow Weave Week Three

I have made the 120 blocks 

And laid them all out. 

Should there be a colour pattern or just a scrappy look????

I made myself a strong cup of coffee 

and with some Biscotti I made yesterday

I will take good time arranging and rearranging the blocks.

June Jelly Roll sew along

I'm back in Reykjavik from the trip to my tiny cottage in the countryside of Iceland. 

To morrow I will fly back to Luxembourg.

This is the fabric I'm using in "June Jelly Roll sew along" with Doreen 

I forgot to bring my cutting mat and had to use this breadboard for cutting

It worked just fine.

Knitted cardigan and crochet hat and boots for the new baby in the family.

The boots pattern I did get from Sarah at repeatcrafterme.com.

I love knitting for babies.

It's different from Luxembourg.

Needlework, knitting, quilting

This cute little needlework was designed by Sue Hawkins.

I bought the kit in France and finished it up yesterday.

It was fun to do.

 I like needlework and Sue's design is very special.

I also finished this knitted shawl.

It is from a class I participated at Craftsy.

The instructor Laura Nelkin is very good.

Have you done any class at Craftsy? 

At the moment I'm doing Shuttle Tatting with Marlee Rockley,

in the beginning I was really struggling, 

but I'm getting there, and really enjoying Tatting.

I will post pictures later, as I'm still practising.

I was going to hand quilt this top.

 After Dorothy sent me pictures of how she quilted hers S.N. I decided to use my machine. 

Some stitch ditch, some straight lines and some free motion quilting 

all with Aurifil Mako'NE 50/2.

ENJOY whatever you are doing and don't forget to breath deeply.

I got these cute little markers in Nantes,

and you need many when you knitt a shawl.

Dear Jane's 150th Anniversary in Nantes, France

Brenda could not be there, I'm sorry to say,

 but 110 of the most fantastic Dear Jane replicas from around the world were there.

The first photo is from the entrance,

pink and beautiful.

This one has 2 inches blocks, beautiful.

Here is a another way to use the blocks.

It was really amazing to enter a hall with over 100 DJ quilts.

I'm still in Nantes, and before I leave tomorrow I will take one more round.

CWB and spools

CWB block no 14 

This is my 12th block for this quilt.

It is growing - very slowly.

Chart for the Civil War Bride quilt.

Some "spools" from scraps have been sewn together.

And the 6th block from Gay at JustTakes2

This house is a bit different and I think I like it better this way.

Well now I'm off to Nantes,

Blocks of the month

Block number five is from Gay at the Sentimental stitches. 

Aurifil block of the month is called "Heart and Soul".

Strips and Scraps,

Using up some scraps and sewing 1" strips together

cut them into pieces to make spools blocks.

I just love this quilt form Edyta Sitar's book.

And this book came today.

Being a lover of Jane Austen's novels for many years, 

I would love to make that quilt.

This quilt is at the top of  my "To do list".

It will take some time to collect the fabrics and to find centre panel.

I'm really looking forward to work on this one.
