Dancing umbrellas

Look what the postman brought this morning
All this  from Laundry Basket Quilts, as a prise for participating
and winning in
"The Heart's Content Thread Box Contest"
at Fat Quarter Shop in February.

Love every single piece.

Here we have the Dancing Umbrellas.
Top finished - next step is quilting.

And also this Spool top.
Both from Edyta's book.

"I asked God for LOVE
and he gave me Troubled people to help".

Enjoy the day

Chain Piecing

Have been working on "Just Takes 2" quilt top.
The blocks have been waiting in the box for to long.
Now that they are all pieced together with sashing and stones,
the next step is to do 120 flying geese.

Then it comes handy to have "The Angler 2" from Pam Bono.
It's a plastic quilting template that fits every sewing machine.
No need to spend time marking with a pencil.

And chain piecing.

120 flying geese blocks done in no time.

Four borders ready to be sewn on to the top.

Have a great week.

FNSI

Thank you Wendy B for hosting Friday Night Sew-In.
I joined for the first time and did one 6" block with hexagons.

This one is for hand-sewn top (no sewing machine),
made with scraps from FQS BOM 2014,
fabric designed by Laundrey Basket.

Also like to share with you newly made
 Dutch Treat blocks.

Tuesday

show and tell tuesday

There are to many UFO in my sewing room.
My goal this year is to finish at least half of them.

Only three more blocks for the FQS BOM 2014.

Broken Star just finished.
It's a wall hanging, using 1" strips for the logs,
 4,5" finished block size.
Finished quilt 40"x40".

This little Wallhanging I turned into a cushion.
It is raw edge appliqué. Never done that before.

I wonder how it will look like after a wash in a washing machine.
More on that later.

I'm linking up with "Show and tell Tuesday"

Enjoy what ever you are doing.
Think positive - Life is beautiful.

Thursday

Hearts Content Thread Box Contest

Hello everyone!

A couple of months ago, Fat Quarter Shop, along with Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts, (my favorite designer), hosted a Heart's Content  Thread Box Contest on FQS's blog.
I took part and made a mini quilt, which I call
"Hearts and Home."

The heart stencil came with the box, (I love hearts in a quilt),
the houses are not quite my invention,
I had a stencil from old days,
the cats, I shaped by using 50 cent and 20 cent coins.
I think they are rather cute.
Of course, all is sewn and quilted with Aurifill Thread.
The only thread I use.

Unfortunately we were only three participating,
you can go to FQS's Blog and have a look at the other two.
Just scroll down to Saturday February 28th. You can actually vote for your favorite.

Have a nice day.
